Cup Draws - Taynuilt
Taynuilt are in the cup draws on the CA website for the Celtic, Balliemore, Sutherland and Bullough cups.
I was a bit surprised to see this and I had a look at the rules on the CA Website and have extracted the following from
http://www.shinty.com/uploads/pdfs/03%20ByeLaw%203%20%28v2008%29.pdf
Glasgow Celtic Society Cup
The competition shall be open to all South clubs playing in the Premier and South Division One League, with the exception of reserve teams playing in South Division One.
The Balliemore Cup
The competition shall be open to a club’s first team that competes in North or South Division 1. It shall be conducted on the basis of an open draw throughout, with draws for all the rounds up to the final being made prior to the start of the season
The Sir William Sutherland Cup
The competition shall be open to all teams playing in North Divisions Two and Three and those playing in South Division Two and any reserve teams playing in North Division One or South Division One
Bullough Cup
The competition shall be open to all reserve/reserve standard teams playing in South Division 2 and any reserve team playing in South Division One
I wondered if Taynuilt were going to be fielding two teams but no one seemed to know if this was the case or not..
When the 2010 fixtures list was published on the CA website today I note that Taynuilt have only one team in South Division One.
The Competition Rules published on the CA website was last updated by D Freshwater on 31/01/2008.
Does this above cup entry criterion still apply ? Has it now been changed but the Competition Rule changes have not been published on the CA website?
If it has not been changed then it would appear that Taynuilt should not have been in the Sutherland and Bullough cup draws.
