Turas Gu Paris (A Journey To Paris)

Kirsty and Donald John Rodgers from the Isle of Eriskay in the Western Isles, are accompanied by Presenter Cathy Mac Donald, to the Hopital des Enfants Malades Cyto-Genetique in Paris with their two year old son,Calum who was born with Down’s Syndrome. They treat their son with a controversial medicine called Clerigil, which is not obtainable or approved in the UK. In Paris they attend the clinic of Professor Jerome Lejeune, the original discoverer in 1959 of the chromosomal anomaly in Down’s children, and visit as many chemists as they need to stock up on enough of the medicine prescribed by Professor Lejeune to last until their next clinical appointment in the city.
